Renewal of a Control Word Application under the Companies Act 2016

1. Log in to SSM4U and select CRS.

• Select Application > Register of Company (ROC) > Name Search > Control Word > My Control Word Application.

2. The list of Control Word applications will be displayed. Click Renew on the Control Word application that you wish to renew.

3. Proceed with the following steps:

(a) Application Information

• Update the Trademark Start Date and Trademark End Date

(b) Supporting Documents

• If the applicant is a Trademark Owner or Body Corporate, attach the trademark certificate as a mandatory supporting document.
• If the applicant is a Trademark Owner and the trademark is a foreign trademark, attach an endorsement letter issued by MyIPO.
• If the applicant is a Body Corporate and the trademark is owned by another party, attach a letter of consent from the trademark owner as a supporting document.

4. Tick the declaration checkbox to confirm that the information provided is true and accurate.

5. Click Preview Submission to review the application and download a PDF copy for reference.

6. Click Submit & Make Payment to submit the application and proceed with payment. An email notification will be sent upon successful submission.
